CVTA TENNIS 101 FOR BEGINNERS — The Coosa Valley Tennis Association is sponsoring a Tennis 101 program for beginners or 2.5-3.0 players who have not played leagues for five years. The six one-hour sessions will take place at the Rome-Floyd Tennis Center every Thursday at 6 p.m. The fee is $50 and includes a free Wilson racket, a one-year USTA membership and a CVTA league fee, a package worth $260. PARKWAY SPORTS BASEBALL TRYOUTS — Parkway Sports has several “Major” travel baseball upcoming tryouts scheduled, including 9and-under on July 26 at Manning Mill Park, Field 3 at 6 p.m.; 10-and-under at Hamilton Cross Park, Field 4 at 6 p.m; and 11-and-under at Manning Mill Park, Field 2 at noon. THE FUTURE CHARGERS BASEBALL CAMP — The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority in partnership with Georgia Highlands College is registering for the The Future Chargers Baseball Camp. The camp features instruction appropriate for players’ ages and skill levels. Each day will focus on a specific skill essential for continued success with rotating stations to ensure all areas are covered. The camp runs July 24-26 from 8 a.m. to noon each day at North Floyd Park. The camp is Open to ages 7 through 13. Registration costs $60, and the deadline to register is July 22. BASEBALL TRYOUTS — SBO is hosting tryouts for the 10-and-under Cobras travel baseball for the upcoming season July 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration will start at 9:30 a.m. The tryouts will be at the SBO facility at 2161 Hall Station Road, Adairsville.
