Rome Shakespeare Festival is offering the fifth in a series of Shakespeare workshops — “Playing Shakespeare” — today from 9 a.m. to noon at the Desoto Theatre upstairs rehearsal hall. Gail Deschamps, artistic director of the Rome Shakespeare Festival, will explore the text and movement of dramatic scenes from “Macbeth,” “Hamlet” and “Romeo and Juliet.” The workshop fee is $10 per person. Free HIV and Hepatitis C testing will be offered today from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Highland Rivers Health Floyd Clinic, 6 Mathis Drive. Same-day test results will be available in approximately 30 minutes. Refreshments will be

The Northwest Georgia Scouting for Food campaign will
wrap up today, with local Scouts returning to neighborhoods where they left door hangers last week to collect bags of nonperishable food. The food will be delivered to food pantries, with everything collected locally staying local.

Puryear Detachment 1020 is encouraging Marines who live in Floyd and surrounding counties to attend the group’s monthly meeting at 9 a.m. today at the Rome-Floyd County Library, Riverside Parkway.
