Police: Rome man tries to flee

A Rome man was in jail without bond Sunday after he was arrested on warrants for fleeing police, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Edward Lamar McGregory, 40, of 10 Burnett Ferry Road, was arrested Sunday and charged with felony fleeing. Police tried to pull him over on March 2 for speeding on Cave Spring Road and clocked him traveling over 90 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

Mc G r e g o r y i s al s o charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, loud music and driving without a license.

Silver Creek man jailed on burglary

A Silver Creek man was in jail without bond Sunday after he was arrested on warrants and charged with burglary.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Danny Glen Dorris, 46, of 205 Pleasant Hope Road, broke into a home on Pleasant Hope Road on April 14 and took several items. He then sold the items at a local pawn shop.

Rome man charged with burglary

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Matthew Troy Atkins, 30, of 5 Valley Wood Drive, broke into a house on Parkwood Circle on Saturday and took several items.
