PEPPERELL GOLF TOURNAMENT — The 12th annual “Jo Jo” Knight Memorial Golf Tournament will be held today at Meadow Lakes Golf Club in Cedartown. The entry fee is $360 per team or $90 per person and includes lunch, green fees, cart fee, range balls and two mulligans. The format will be a best-ball scramble with lunch served at 1 p.m. and a shotgun start at 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit Pepperell High School Athletics. PEPPERELL MITES MEETING — A player/parent meeting will be held today for all Pepperell area players who wish to play Mite football in the Unified Football League at the Gilbreath Center, 106 Garden Ave., Lindale, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. All players ages 11-12 before Sept. 1 are encouraged to attend. PEPPERELL MITES FOOTBALL — Registration for the 2016 Unified Football League has begun with the Pepperell Dragon Mites team looking for players for the upcoming season. Players should be age 11 to 12 before the cut-off date of Sept. 1. First practice will be Monday. CLOCKTOWER 5K ROAD RACE — The 31st annual Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K Road Race and 2-Mile Health Walk will be held Aug. 20 at 8 a.m. in downtown Rome. The event benefits The Exchange Club Family Resource Center. Early registration is open through Sunday with $25 for the 5K and $20 for the 2-mile walk. Prices increase $5 beginning Aug. 1 and another $5 on the day of the race. A $3-per-person discount is available for groups of 10 or more if registration is submitted together no later than Aug. 10. CHEROKEE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB TOURNAMENT — Cherokee Golf and Country Club will host a seniors (50-and-older) two-person scramble Aug. 13-14. YOUTH FOOTBALL COACHES NEEDED — The Rome-Floyd Unified Football Program is looking for coaches for the upcoming season. Coaches are needed for the Junior Pee Wee division (ages 7-8) in the Armuchee area, the Pee Wee division (ages 9-10) in the Pepperell and Model area, and the new Tiny Mites division (ages 5-6) in all areas. YOUTH CHEERLEADING COACHES NEEDED — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Georgia need volunteer cheerleading coaches for the Unified Football and Cheerleading program.
