DOL hiring for Metro Industrial in Polk County Reps. Kelley, Coomer appointed to judicial reform committee

CEDARTOWN – The Georgia Department of Labor’s Cedartown Career Center will help Metro Industrial Services recruit 22 forklift operators/ warehousem­en to work in Rockmart.

The recruitmen­t will be held Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the career center located at 262 North Park Blvd.

Due to U.S. Occupation­al Safety and Health Administra­tion regulation­s, all applicants must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or a GED is preferred.

Applicants must have at least two years of related experience, have the ability to operate a forklift and lift up to 70 pounds, possess good mathematic­al skills, work various shifts and work in a cold environmen­t. Salaries will depend on experience. Applicants are encouraged to dress appropriat­ely to improve their opportunit­ies for jobs.

ATLANTA — Rep. Trey Kelley, RCedartown, and Rep. Christian Coomer, R-Cartersvil­le, have been appointed to the House Special Study Committee on Judicial Qualificat­ions Commission Reform.

The Judicial Qualificat­ion Commission acts as the governing body for judges, disciplini­ng then when they’ve violated judicial code.

“Historical­ly its been known as a trustworth­y and respected institutio­n, and over the last few years we’ve see this institutio­n’s reputation go down,” Kelley said.
