UNITY FUN RUN 5K — Metropolit­an United Methodist Church will have a Unity Fun Run 5K and 1-mile walk on Oct. 8 at 8 a.m. beginning at the church, 700 Broad St. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for youth and includes a race T-shirt if registered by Sept. 30. The cost will be $30 for adults and $20 for children on the day of the race. There will be refreshmen­ts and prizes. HERO HUSTLE 5K — The Harbin Hero Hustle 5K and Two-Mile Health Walk is set for Oct. 15 in downtown Rome. Registrati­on for the event is open at rfpra.com. Online registrati­on costs $25 for the 5K and $20 for the health walk. Race-day registrati­on costs $30 for the 5K race. There will also be a pre-race costume contest with awards going to the best hero, best villain, best junior hero (age 10 and under), best league of heroes (ensemble of five or more) and best dynamic duo. Packet pick-up will be Oct. 14 at Harbin Clinic Vitality Fitness.

BERRY COLLEGE SOFTBALL ELITE CAMP — The Berry College softball program is presenting an Elite Camp on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The camp includes offensive and defensive instructio­n from Berry coaches, players and alumni. American League SEATTLE MARINERS — Suspended C Steve Clevenger for the rest of the season for his tweets regarding a recent police shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Named Justin Hollander director of baseball operations.

LOS ANGELES DODGERS — Reinstated LHP Scott Kazmir from the 15-day DL. Recalled INF Chris Taylor from Oklahoma City (PCL). PITTSBURGH PIRATES — Selected the contract of LHP Phil Coke from Indianapol­is (IL). Placed RHP A.J. Schugel on the 60-day DL.
