Woman accused of taking money from elderly man

A Rome woman remained in jail Friday without bond after being accused of taking thousands of dollars from an elderly man.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Sarah Imogene Brown, 61, of 309 Dellwood Drive, was arrested Friday on warrants stating she took an elderly man with dementia to his bank and got him to withdraw $8,000 from his account.

Brown is charged with felony exploitati­on and intimidati­on of an elderly person. in Silver Creek, were arrested Thursday after using resources of an elderly victim for their own financial purposes on Aug. 24.

Norris used resources of the victim to pay her own water bill, and she along with McCurry made various purchases using with the victim’s resources.

They were both charged with felony exploitati­on of an elderly person.

Both McCurry and Norris remained in the Floyd County Jail on Friday pending $3,500 bonds. morning, charging both with felony possession of a controlled substance, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Corun Jaron Sellars, 29, of 123 Lindsey Road, and Conswaylow Lashawn Thompson, 33, of 112 Jackson St., were stopped in the 1400 block of North Broad Street by Rome police around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Sellars and Thompson are both charged with felony purchase, possession, manufactur­e, distributi­on or sale of a controlled substance and sale, distributi­on or possession of dangerous drugs.

They are also facing misdemeano­r charges of drugs not in original container and possession of marijuana.

Sellars is additional­ly charged with felony probation violation and misdemeano­r obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t officers.

Jail documents did not identify the particular substance, outside of marijuana, the two had.

Sellars remained in jail Friday without bond, while Thompson was being held on a $3,500 bond.
