Rome man accused of pot possession
A Rome man was arrested near the intersection of U.S. 411 East and Dodd Boulevard late Thursday night after being accused of having more than an ounce of marijuana.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jonathan Benjamin Whatley, 32, of 413 Wilshire Road, was stopped by Rome police around 11:45 p.m. Thursday.
He was found to be carrying more than an ounce of marijuana in a jacket pocket. He also had a small scale with marijuana residue on it.
Whatley was charged with felony possession of marijuana and miwsdemeanor possession of a drug-related object.
Whatley remained in jail Friday pending a $3,500 bond.
