Chattooga gets a win over Armuchee

Even with half of its starting backfield sidelined with an injury, Chattooga prevailed with a 28-8 victory against Armuchee Friday night.

Starting quarterbac­k Isaac Foster sat out the game, so it was up to his twin brother, running back Isaiah Foster, to carry the load for the Indians (53, 4-1 Region 7-AA). He scored three touchdowns in the first half to put his team up 21-0 at halftime, and added one more in the third quarter.

Armuchee (2-6, 1-4) plays again next week when it hosts Pepperell, while Chattooga hits the road to play Dade County. home against South Carolina School for the Deaf.

“We just got outmatched all the way around on the ball,” coach Erik Whitworth said. “We got beat by a much better team, got out hustled and out played. I hope we learned from it.”
