Mt. Zion-Carroll 31, Trion 24

Trion just came up short Friday against Mt. Zion-Carroll, falling to the undefeated team 31-24.

The Bulldogs set the tone of the game early when Evan Walker ran the opening kickoff 75 yards for a score.

The Eagles quickly retaliated when C.J. Ackles ran the next kickoff back 90 yards to tie the game. Jarrett Pierce led the Bulldogs’ offense with 114 yards on 11 carries and two receptions for 63 yards. He also scored twice on runs of 58 and 4 yards.

Trion (4-4, 2-3) hosts Gordon Lee next week.
