Pepperell’s boys’ basketball team sent a firm message in its second game of the season as it came back to defeat Model 63-59 in a Region 7-AA game Tuesday night in Lindale.

The Dragons were down by seven heading into the final quarter and was able to initiate their pressure defense down the stretch.

“Nothing was clicking for us, and that’s really a credit to the way Model was playing defense,” Pepperell coach Zach Mendence said. “We just found a way at the end. We were able to get a couple of steals and hang in there for a victory.”

Malech Wilson led the home team with 29 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter and nine straight at one point. Tae Hammond was the lone other Dragon in double digits with 10.
