Lady Chargers get conference win over Albany Tech, 59-54

- From GHC reports

Lady Chargers head coach Brandan Harrell is trying find the right combination with an injury-plagued team. His combination proved well enough Saturday for a 59-54 win over the Lady Titans of Albany Tech for a GCAA conference win.

Georgia Highlands opened the game trading baskets with Albany Tech throughout the first period, leading 1210 after the first period.

The Lady Chargers (4-7, 1-0 GCAA) extended their lead to 29-18 at the half behind Maria Crider’s pair of 3-pointers and three assists in the second period. GHC made a 14-point run in the third to go up 46-32.

Albany Tech came roaring back late in the fourth, cutting the lead to three with two minutes to go, but that was as close as the Lady Titans would come.

Pam Diokpara paced Georgia Highlands with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Maria Crider had 12 points, and Kanisha Tharpe finished with a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.
