Benedictine wins Class 2A title

ATLANTA — Tyleek Collins and John Wesley Kennedy combined for 175 yards and four touchdowns to lift No. 1 Benedictine to a 49-26 win over No. 2 Fitzgerald in the Georgia High School Association’s Class AA championship Saturday at the Georgia Dome.

Collins rushed 11 times for 95 yards and scored on runs of 43 and 7 yards. Kennedy carried 15 times for 80 yards, scored on a 7-yard run and returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown.

Benedictine (15-0) won its second state title, the other coming in 2014. The Cadets have won 35 of their last 36 games,
