The 8th Regiment Band

of Rome will have its 30th anniversar­y concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at Second Avenue Baptist Church, 823 E. Second Ave. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for children under 6.

MONDAY

Lavender View Garden Club will meet Monday at 11 a.m. at the Rome Federated Garden Club Center. The club will celebrate its 59th anniversar­y with a covered dish luncheon. The program will be about design, with Jane Davis, flower show judge, as the speaker. For more informatio­n call 706-346-4719.

A Black History Month program titled “The Evolution of Freedom through

the Arts” will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Rome City Auditorium. The event will feature a diverse musical production from performers representi­ng all Rome City Schools. Admission is free.

The Rome Seven Hills Rotary Club will meet Tuesday at noon at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave. The program will be about Blood Assurance.

The Rome Lions Club will meet Tuesday at noon at Red Lobster on Shorter Avenue. Laura Fowler from Lutheran Services of Georgia will be the guest speaker.

A new Young Marine recruit training class will be held March 4 at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport next to the TigerFligh­t hangar. The American Cancer Society’s Fresh Start Smoking Cessation Program classes are held the first Monday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. and the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Enrollment for RomeFloyd Parks and Recreation’s Spring Break

Camp, taking place at the Anthony Center at 2901 Garden Lakes Blvd., is now open. The camp will run March 27-31. Drop-off times begin at 7:30 a.m. and pickup is no later than 6 p.m. The camp is for children ages 5-14 and costs $100 per child. Camp Anthony is also offering 9 weeks of summer day camps from May 30 through July 28. Each camp has a different theme and a field trip, and costs $100 per child for each week.
