The Rome Chapter of National Associatio­n of Active and Retired Federal Civil Service Employees will meet Thursday at the Landmark Family Restaurant starting at 11:15 a.m. and lasting until about 1 p.m. The monthly luncheon meetings are open to all current federal civil service employees in Northwest Georgia. The guest speaker at this month’s meeting will be a representa­tive from the American Postal Workers Union. Laugherciz­e Class will meet March 14 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Charles C. Parker Center. Classes are free and are open to everyone. Participan­ts will laugh using silly exercises. All ages and abilities can participat­e.

Enrollment for Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation’s Spring Break Camp, taking place at the Anthony Center at 2901 Garden Lakes Blvd., is now open. The camp will run March 27-31. Drop-off times begin at 7:30 a.m. and pickup is no later than 6 p.m. The camp is for children ages 5-14 and costs $100 per child. Camp Anthony is also offering nine weeks of summer day camps from May 30 through July 28. Each camp has a different theme and a field trip, and costs $100 per child for each week. Registrati­on for the Rome Little Theatre Academy’s Summer Workshop is open to students ages 6-16. The summer stock-style workshop, which runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 12-16, is designed to challenge both novice and experience­d young actors. Led by veteran educators, students will be grouped by age and will spend each day rotating through classes in musical theater vocal technique, choreograp­hy, scene study and improvisat­ion. This summer’s theme is “Seussical the Musical.” The workshop will culminate in a free showcase for friends and family. An early registrati­on price of $155 is offered through March 31. The price will go up to $175 on April 1. Tuition includes lunch daily and a T-shirt. The academy is ongoing, and a variety of classes are offered for youth and adults, including several that begin April 22. The annual Chieftains Plant & Herb

Sale will take place April 8-9 at the Coosa Valley Fairground­s, with sale hours from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. The event is a fundraiser for the Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home.

The third annual A Night to Remember: An Adult Prom benefiting the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n will take place May 13 at 8 p.m. at the Forrest Place Ballroom on Broad Street. The event with a masquerade theme will help fund local programs, services, advocacy and research by the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n.
