Police investigat­ing convenienc­e store break-in

Rome police are investigat­ing a burglary at a BP service station on Redmond Circle where a large amount of cash was stolen, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports:

The burglary occurred around 1:45 a.m. Monday at the gas station, 1389 Redmond Circle. The owner of the store provided police security footage, which showed a suspect smash the glass on the front door at 1:43 a.m.

The suspect, wearing a camouflage jacket, took approximat­ely $1,200 from the register and then fled in the direction of the Bojangles’ that is adjacent to the station. the campus of Darlington School.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

April Dawn Lindsey, 39, of 172 Old Rockmart Road, was arrested Tuesday at 1:09 p.m. at Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Road, after she was found on the ground without permission to be there. She attempted to run from police and hide under a bush. She had a glass pipe with methamphet­amine residue inside it.

Lindsey is charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine and possession of drugs inside a safe zone. She also is charged with misdemeano­r criminal trespass.
