Off Constantly wins Kiwanis Music Showcase

-

It was a crazy rendition of a classic rock song but the performance worked to collect first place and a scholarship in the annual Kiwanis Music Showcase for a group of teens calling themselves Off Constantly.

The group performed an a cappella version of the Queen song “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” to claim the title. Group member Max Rampley also took second place performing a solo number.

Students from Floyd County Schools placed first and second in the annual Kiwanis Club of Rome Music Showcase held Saturday at Shorter University. The event awards college scholarships to artistically talented students each year. This year, $1,500 in

scholarships were awarded to the top three winners.

Off Constantly is made up of Max Rampley and Brice Green, both seniors at Pepperell High School; Christopher Morgan, a junior at Coosa High School and Zac Mitchell, a sophomore at Coosa High.

Second place went to Rampley, who sang a solo version of “It’s Hard to Speak My Heart.” Morgan accompanied Rampley on the piano.

The a cappella group will represent Kiwanis of Rome in a state-level Music Showcase in April with the opportunity to earn an additional educational scholarship.
