Police report: Man pawns stolen rifles

Guns taken in Reeceburg Road burglary

A Silver Creek man has been jailed on a felony burglary warrant and other felony crime charges stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred earlier this month.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Brandon Lee Perry, 21, of 100 Jack St., is accused of entering a residence in the 2600 block of Reeceburg Road with the intent to commit a theft.

The felony warrant claims that the burglary occurred March 7 and that an undisclose­d number of firearms were stolen during the burglary.

Perry was also charged with two felony counts of theft by receiving stolen property and two misdemeano­r counts of theft by deception.

On the same day as the burglary, Perry is alleged to have sold a stolen rifle taken in the Reeceburg Road burglary at a pawn shop on Shorter Avenue. Perry also is accused of selling a second rifle, apparently taken during the same burglary, at a pawn shop on North Fifth Avenue.

Perry was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Thursday night without bond.

Police: Cave Spring man hit another in head with hoe

A Cave Spring man is charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly hit a man over the head with a hoe, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Claude Ellis Wade, 49, 480 Buttermilk Road, reportedly hit the man in February at 2405 Rockmart Highway.

He remained in jail on $11,200 bond.

Report: Man found with a stolen 1992 truck

A Rome man was arrested on a felony theft charge after police found him in possession of a stolen 1992 Nissan truck, reports stated. According to jail reports: Edward Guy Paintin II, 44, of 21 Elmwood St., is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property.

He was released from jail Thursday night on $3,500 bond.
