Local KSU student bringing collegiate painters to Rome
Noah Bielstein hopes to work at 40 homes this summer.
A young entrepreneur from Plainville is in the process of trying to identify as many as 40 homes in Rome that need painting this summer while he tests his talents as a business owner under a national student enterprise.
Noah Bielstein is the local manager of Student Painters and he is looking for homeowners willing to hire on a student-managed, student-workforce group to tackle their home’s face-lift.
Student Painters is the major affiliate of Young Entrepreneurs Across America. The program is an internship through Kennesaw State University that gives students a chance to run their own business. Bielstein is majoring in professional sales at KSU and he will be seeking admission to the Michael Coles School of Business this fall.
This marks the first time a Young Entrepreneurs Across America program has filtered into the Rome area for the summer. Painting will begin in May and end in August. Bielstein said he is willing to give prospective customers a free cost estimate.
“The goal for me is to start developing a reputation as a business owner in Rome,” he said.
His parents operate a tree farm in the Shannon and Plainville communities.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for both local students searching for jobs and for homeowners in search of a quality paint job with excellent customer
service,” Bielstein said.
He will have a team of six painters recruited from Georgia Highlands College, Shorter University and Berry College.
“We do exterior paint work only, deck staining and pressure washing,” Bielstein said. “We will focus primarily on the residential properties, but I am not going to be exclusively residential. The goal is to book 40 and complete 40 houses.”
While Bielstein gets invaluable training in managing a business, getting communication and real-world business skills, the student workers also are able to earn money during the summer for tuition.
Bielstein said his crews do have Environmental Protection Agency certifications, and he carries a million dollar workers’ compensation policy.
