The murder trial of the alleged triggerman in the 2015 shooting death of a man at a Copeland Street home during a robbery began Monday, according to prosecutors.

Lawyers picked a jury and testimony began in Floyd County Superior Court in the trial of 25-year-old Zjuantavious Marquis Jackson.

He is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Two other men are accused of the crime but will be tried separately: 30-year-old Joseph Hamilton Jackson and 21-year-old Javarick Javon McCain.

The three men are accused of participating in an April 7, 2015, robbery that led to the shooting death of Detavious Jamalcom Milner.

Police reports indicated that at least two men entered the home at 20 Copeland St. around 11:10 p.m. that Tuesday night and demanded cash.

They got $1,200 and opened fire, killing Milner and wounding three other people, who later recovered.

On Monday, Joseph Jackson testified that Zjuantavious Jackson was the shooter.

Joseph Jackson was captured two days after the robbery and is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Zjuantavious Jackson and McCain were captured in September 2016.
