The Church Bowling

League will begin its 15th year of competitio­n at Classic Lanes on Huffaker Road with the organizati­onal meeting for the spring-summer season on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the lanes. Representa­tives from churches as well as all interested persons are invited to attend for informatio­n and to register teams or singles. A team consists of four bowlers.

The New Romans Club

The Exchange Club of Rome will meet Friday at noon at The Palladium at the Coosa Valley Fairground­s, 69 Church St. Robin Holt will speak about her trip to Israel.

Registrati­on for the Rome Little Theatre Academy’s

Summer Workshop is open to students ages 6-16. The summer stock-style workshop, which runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 12-16, is designed to challenge both novice and experience­d young actors. An early registrati­on price of $155 is offered through

Friday. The price will go up to $175 on Saturday. Tuition includes lunch daily and a T-shirt. For details call the theater at 706-295-7171.

A meeting on school choice will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hill Crest Baptist Church, 2202 N. Broad St. Colleges, home-school groups, and hybrid and private schools will be represente­d.

The fifth annual Spring

Art Market will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rome Civic Center, 402 Civic Center Drive. Free entry and free parking.

Habitat for Humanity is partnering with Lowe’s to offer a Women Build workshop on how to properly use power tools. The free workshop will take place at Lowe’s, 2338 Shorter Ave., on April 4 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The annual Chieftains

Plant & Herb Sale will take place April 8-9 at the Coosa Valley Fairground­s, with sale hours from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. The event is a fundraiser for the Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home. Floyd County Master Gardener volunteers will be present to offer advice, and those who want their soil tested should bring soil sample bags.
