A free Wellness Works seminar titled “Let’s Talk About HPV: An Evening for Mothers and Daughters” will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the lower level classrooms A and B at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Dr. Kristen Leezer, Northwest Georgia OB/GYN, will share information about HPV and answer questions. Redmond’s Women’s Center nurse practitioners will also provide breast health information. The YMCA of Rome and
Floyd County will celebrate YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grizzard Park. Admission is free and open to the public. Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and wellbeing of families. The day will include fun active play and educational activities to keep kids moving and learning. Holiday, the City of Rome’s public excursion boat, is offering public tours the first Sunday of every month April through September at 2 p.m. Each tour is limited to 40 passengers. The Friends of the Library will be sponsoring a special 2017 springtime Paperback Book Sale in the Oostanaula Room of the Rome-Floyd County Library on Riverside Parkway. The sale will be open April 26-27 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All regular-size paperbacks will be 25 cents or 5 for a $1. All oversize paperbacks

The Sara Hightower Regional Library’s 2017 Adult
Reading Program will run until April 15. Weekly gift bags will be handed out. The second grand prize drawing for an Amazon Kindle Fire tablet will be April 17. There is a free tax service being offered by the AARP at two locations in Rome.
