Rome boys 1, Cherokee 1

The Rome High boys ended the regular season with a 1-1 draw at non-region opponent Cherokee on Thursday. Angel Morente scored on an assist from Sergio Vazquez for the Wolves’ only goal.

Rome (10-4-1) outshot the home team 18-2, as Mutsa Nyamuranga, Cade Graham, Brandon Juarez, Cooper Williams, Grant Chambers and Henry Ramirez all clamped down on defense.

As the No. 2 seed from Region 7-5A, the top 10-ranked Wolves will host Chamblee in the first round of the state playoffs April 28 at Barron Stadium.
