Model boys 2, Spencer 1

The Model soccer team withstood a late rally to beat Spencer 2-1 in the first round of the state playoffs in Columbus on Wednesday. It is the first playoff win in the program’s history.

After a scoreless first half, Logan Burdette got the Blue Devils on the board with a goal in the 43rd minute, with Tee Jarrard getting the assist. Model’s Jason Ortega then scored from 30 yards out to add to that lead in the 68th minute.
