Georgia Legal Services Program assistance will be available in the Floyd County Courthouse, 3 Government Plaza, Suite 114, on Friday at 9 a.m. The program offers to help low-income clients in a range of civil matters, including TPOs, public benefits, housing, consumer issues, school suspension­s and unemployme­nt. The Roman Roast on the

River will be Friday and Saturday at Ridge Ferry Park. Gates will open Friday at 6 p.m., with activities for kids, live music and outdoor movie “The Secret Life of Pets.” On Saturday, gates will open at 10 a.m., with activities for kids and live music. Recreation will begin its free summer film series Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Ridge Ferry Park. The park will be open to the public two hours prior to the movie. Pre-movie activities will include live music, vendors, inflatable­s and Knockerbal­l. Representa­tives from animal rescue agencies such as ARF, Floyd Felines and Friends, and others will be present.
