Report: Rome man held woman in kitchen by force

He also is accused of breaking back window of a patrol car

The 38-year-old is also accused of resisting arrest and kicking out the window of a patrol car.

A Rome man was in jail without bond Sunday night after police said he held a woman against her will and kicked out a window of a patrol car.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Robert Aaron Thomas, 38, of 302 Wright St., is charged with felony false imprisonme­nt, felony interferen­ce with government property and the misdemeano­rs battery under the Family Violence Act, third-degree cruelty to children and obstructio­n of an officer.

He was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Saturday night at his home.

Thomas is accused of keeping a woman in the kitchen by force. He slapped and punched her, injuring her lip, in front of a 1-year-old child.

When police arrived, he refused to obey orders, resisted arrest and kicked out the back window of the patrol car.

Floyd man being held for Ala. sheriff

A Floyd County man was in jail Sunday night without bond on a warrant issued in Alabama.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

David Ryan Thompson, 43, of 211 Harrison Road, was arrested late Saturday night at the intersecti­on of Iron Street and Martha Berry Boulevard. He was being held on a felony charge as a person charged with a crime in another state.

Thompson is wanted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Payne, Alabama.

Man jailed after Kroger Fuel Center incident

A New York man accused of using someone else’s bank card and running from police was in jail without bond Sunday night. According to jail records: The man listed as Alexander George Ford, 27, of 11233 201st St., St. Albans, New York, is charged with the felonies first-degree forgery, financial transactio­n card fraud and tampering with evidence.

He is also facing misdemeano­r charges of obstructio­n, simple battery and giving a false name and date of birth.

He is accused of using a bank card belonging to a Connecticu­t man at Kroger Fuel Center, 1412 Turner McCall Blvd., on Saturday afternoon, then throwing it down a storm drain, running from police and resisting arrest.

He also pushed a woman while trying to get away from officers, and police say there is no such person with his name and date of birth in Georgia, New York, Massachuse­tts or Connecticu­t.
