Ida Louise Ware Williams

Mrs. Ida Louise Ware Williams, 38, of 225 Flora Ave., Rome, GA, passed away on May 9, 2017.

Services for Mrs. Williams will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 12:00 noon at New Life of St. John Baptist Church, 419 Walter Street NW, Rome, GA. She will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow the services at Padlock Cemetery. There will be a wake Friday, May 19, 2017, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Wright’s Chapel, 814 South Broad Street.

Thelma Moore

Ms. Thelma Moore, 93, of Rome, GA, passed away on May 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Arrangemen­ts are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date.

Antonietta T. Colello

Mrs. Antonietta T. Colello, age 92, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 16, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Colello was born in Valsinni Matera, Italy, on May 29, 1924, a daughter of the late Carmine Truncellit­o and Rosalia Sinisalchi. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for most of her life and was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Colello was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Colello, and a son, Mario Carmen Colello, a step-daughter, Martha Ellen Crocker, and a stepson, Frank Colello.

Mrs. Colello is survived by two daughters, Rosalie Colello of Rome, and Mrs. Elisa Hobbs of Jackson Hole, WY; one son, Jimmy Colello of Rome; two loving step-sons, Tony Colello, Jr. of Rome, and Nick Colello of Pensacola, FL. Several grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren also survive.

A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Colello will be held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in Saint Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rafael Carbello officiatin­g. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery.

A Rosary service for Mrs. Colello will be held on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. in Salmon Funeral Home and the family will receive friends following the Rosary until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearer­s are asked to meet at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday by 2 p.m. and include Jeff Sexton and Mrs. Colello’s grandsons.

Ira Lee Roberson

Mr. Ira Lee Roberson, 84, of Rome, passed away on May 11, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 25, 1932 in Rome, the son of the late Harrison Roberson and the late Bessie Shirey Schrimsher. Lee was a member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church. He was a retiree of Rome Kraft. His family was his focus and he will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Mae Boozer Roberson, and his brother, J.L. Roberson.

Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Jean and Greg Sloman; his sons and their wives, Michael and Terry Roberson, Timothy and Jeana Roberson, Billy and Anita Roberson, Robert and Hazel Roberson, and Mickey and Bridgette Roberson; 11 grandchild­ren; and 17 great grandchild­ren; his brother and his wife, Dale and Barbara Schrimsher; his sisters-in-law, Louise Roberson and Fanlee Horton; and his best friend and cousin, Huey Shirey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church with the Reverend Skip Myers and the Reverend Max Tucker. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion in charge of Military Rites. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Serving as pallbearer­s will be Dale Schrimsher, Dale Roberson, Bryan Scott, Steve Roberson, Brandon Roberson, and Devan Roberson.

Jeffery David Crowe

Mr. Jeffery David Crowe, age 53, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born in Floyd County on March 18, 1964, son of the late John Wayne Crowe and the late Bertha Lee Canada Crowe. He was a former employee of Shaw Industries and attended the Coosa Valley Praise and Worship Center. He was a loving family man, father and Paw Paw. He was a gifted songwriter and Poet. He wrote Gospel and Country Music and had many of his songs recorded. He also had a book of poems published.

Survivors include three daughters, Kayla Crowe, and her fiancé, Michael Jordan, Rome, Amy Crowe, Rome, and Leah Rogers, and her husband, Anthony, Rome; a son, Brandon Rogers, and his wife, Addie, Rome; a step-daughter, Trista Farmer, Rome; four brothers, Kenneth Crowe, and his wife, Crystal, Silver Creek, Gregory Crowe, Kingston, Stephen Crowe, Shannon, and Anthony Crowe, and his wife, Jan, Rome; a sister, Belinda Dixon, and her husband, Eddie, Shannon; the mother of his children, Angela Swearinger, Rome; five grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Thomas Matthews and the Rev. Steve Kelley will officiate. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.

Pallbearer­s serving are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and include Eddie Dixon, Josh, Kenneth, Greg, Stephen and Anthony Crowe, David Gibson, and Kenny Helms.

Virginia Ann Culberson Wade

Mrs. Virginia Ann Culberson Wade, age 77, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in a local hospital.

Ann was a native of Floyd County, born April 10, 1940, a daughter of the late John T. Culberson and Willie Mae Colston Culberson. She was a waitress at Partridge Restaurant for several years. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Dale Richard Frix, a brother, James Olin Culberson, and a nephew, Jimmy Culberson.

Survivors include her husband, John E. Chance; children, Dan Earwood, Doug Frix, Ginger Earwood, Melody Cruz, and Lynn Wade; a brother, Harlan Cochran, Centre, AL; a number of grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Eric Hardman officiatin­g. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, GA 30165.
