Be the person God created you to be

We live in very challenging times. Some of my friends and loved ones are sick, while others that I grew up with have transitioned to the world beyond. I have come to realize how blessed I am just to be alive, no matter my circumstances or situation. We cannot take the precious gift of life for granted. We must find and fulfill our destiny. Do you know who you are? You are a child of a sovereign God who created you like no other person. It is said that there are billions of people on the face of the earth and not a one of us is the same.

The Psalmist David gives us some of the sweetest words in the Old Testament that deal with our creation and our relationship with God: “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalms 139:13-14)

God can do anything, but have you ever thought that, by design, he wants to use you? Sometimes, by choice, the only hands he has is yours; the only eyes, ears, and mouth he wants to use are yours. If ever there was a time to let God use us, now is that time. Have you ever thought that the real change that needs to be made will not begin in the nation’s capital, but rather in your own home? “Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with me.” How can I fulfill my destiny, make a difference in this world and live in peace with my fellow man? Consider these suggestions:

Put God first. There is no way you can know God and not serve him. The Bible declares, “In all thou ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.” (Proverbs 3:6) Next, love and forgive. Love covers a multitude of sins. Forgiveness is not only for the person who offended you, but it will also set you free. Remember to be positive. Have you noticed that nothing is ever as bad as it seems? When a person says something to bring you down, encourage yourself. You are living for the most high God, and he has you covered. Michelle Obama says, “When they go low, we go high.” Take that approach and be the difference you want to see.

Then, keep the faith. Know that faith and fear cannot walk together. Keep believing and watch God change your messings into blessings. Take care of your body; get your rest and exercise. Do you know that one 30-minute brisk walk a day can keep you healthy and strong. Do something that exerts energy and make it fun. Remember, Jesus walked all his life.

Relax and enjoy your life one day at a time because that is all we have. We are going to have trials and tribulations. Laugh out loud, refuse to allow those things that you cannot control to have rule over your life. Remember, if your problems are not greater than the Resurrection, then you do not have any problems. Believe your best days are ahead.
