Woman jailed on meth charge

A Rome woman who was taken to the Floyd County jail on other charges now faces felony drug charges after drugs and drug-related objects were found underneath her seat in a Floyd County police vehicle. According to Floyd jail reports: Desiree Starla Dean, 36, 216 E. 20th St., was arrested Friday and when officers were inventoryi­ng the police cruiser before leaving the jail, a quantity of methamphet­amine, a needle and syringe were found in the police vehicle under the seat where Dean had been detained.

Dean was charged with felonies for possession of methamphet­amine, crossing the guard line with drugs and a misdemeano­r for possession of drug related objects. Dean was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Saturday night without bond.

Report: Man had drugs, syringe

Rome police took a man into custody Saturday evening after being caught with drugs and a syringe in the 300 block of Kingston Avenue around 6 p.m. Saturday.

According to Floyd jail reports:

Scott Alan Amos, 51, 42 Chateau Drive, was picked up in North Rome with a syringe filled with methamphet­amine in a pants pocket.

Amos was charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine and a misdemeano­r for possession of drug related objects.

Amos was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Saturday night without bond.

Lindale man charged with pills

A Lindale man arrested Saturday after Floyd County police made a traffic stop at Teat Street and Willow Road around 12:15 Saturday afternoon. According to Floyd jail reports: Dallas Michael Holt, 25, of 111 Grove Ave., Lindale, was in possession of clonazepam not in an original container.

Holt was charged with felony possession of a Schedule IV drug and a misdemeano­r for possession of drugs not in an original container.

Holt was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Saturday night without bond.

Bail jumper captured

A man who allegedly didn’t show up for his day in Floyd Superior Court in December 2016 is back behind bars in Rome. According to Floyd jail reports: A warrant for felony bail jumping was issued for Pat Brown III, 29, of Valley Hill Drive, Birmingham, Alabama, on May 10 after agents for James Bond Bonding of Rome located Brown.

The warrant states that Brown left Georgia but did not give any indication as to specifical­ly where he was found or what date he was captured.

Brown was also charged with a second felony for failure to appear in court. He was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Saturday night without bond.
