Patsy Jo Porter Ingram, 85, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017. Mrs. Ingram was born June 1, 1931 in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late Velma Carlson Porter and Joseph Johnston Porter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Anis Ingram.

She was a graduate of Girls High School in Rome, Georgia, where she was a member of the Glee Club and the Drum and Bugle Corps. She was previously employed by Brighton Mills in their administra­tive office before working in the Child Welfare Division of the Social Security Offices in Rome, Chattanoog­a, TN and Dallas, TX. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Rome and a member of the Cherry Snider Agape Sunday School Class. She and her husband, John, worked in the soup kitchen for over 20 years.

She was a devoted mother and grandmothe­r and enjoyed watching her grandchild­ren participat­e in their extracurri­cular activities. She loved her needlework and also played golf and tennis. She is survived by sons, John Porter Ingram and his wife Ginger, of Rome, and Joseph Patrick Ingram and his wife Lyn, of Rome. Three grandchild­ren, Virginia Grace Ingram, Joseph Porter Ingram and Hogan John Ingram, also survive; one sister, Montarie Porter Hedgpeth of Brookville, Maryland, along with nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel at First Baptist Church of Rome with the Reverend Matt DuVall officiatin­g. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m.11:30 a.m. at the Chapel prior to the service.
