MONDAY
The Chieftains Museum/ Major Ridge Home will host History Explorers Camp for fourth-grade students June 14-16 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. daily. The camp costs $30 per student. Registration forms for the camp must be submitted to Chieftains Museum by Monday. Registration is limited to 30 students.
Starting Monday, the bridge on Park Avenue in Lindale next to the old mill will have single-lane closures while maintenance and upgrade work is performed on the bridge. The closures will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday until the work is complete, possibly up to a month. The work is part of the Lindale infrastructure projects included in the 2013 SPLOST.

The Rome Chapter of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Civil Service Employees will meet Thursday from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Landmark Restaurant. Guest speaker will be NARFE Region III Vice President Clarence Robinson. Meeting attendees will receive the latest news regarding federal civil service matters and retirement data, as well as changes to Social Security. The Rotary Club of Rome will host Jay Jarvis, a retired scientist for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, for a GBI case study presentation. The club meets at noon Thursdays at Coosa Country Club.
