The Rome Chapter of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Civil Service Employees will meet Thursday from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Landmark Restaurant. Guest speaker will be NARFE Region III Vice President Clarence Robinson. Meeting attendees will receive the latest news regarding federal civil service matters and retirement data, as well as changes to Social Security. The Rotary Club of Rome will host Jay Jarvis, a retired scientist for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, for a GBI case study presentation. The club meets at noon Thursdays at Coosa Country Club.

Mercy Care Rome will have its ninth annual A Day for Grands on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Charles C. Parker Center, 1325 Kingston Road. The event will include information, vendors, games and lunch. Admission is free for vendors and attendees. For more information call 706291-8496.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Friday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at State Mutual Stadium, 755 Braves Blvd., and on June 14 from 3-7 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1941 Shorter Ave.
Georgia Legal Services Program assistance will be available in the Judicial Courthouse, 3 Government Plaza, Suite 114, on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon to assist low-income clients with TPOs, public benefits, housing, consumer issues, school suspensions and unemployment.
