Rev. Weyman “Max” Maxwell Wright Sr., 86, of Rome passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Max was born on April 1, 1931 in Bartow County, he was the son of the late John Thomas Wright and the late Nellie Lee Head Wright. Max was a member and founder of Skyline Baptist Church. He worked in the carpet industry most of his life and was a supervisor at Integrated Products. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several of his brothers and sisters.

Max is survived by his wife of 66 years, June McEntyre Wright; his children and their spouses, Weyman M. and Ellen Mary Wright, Darlene and Mike Wallace, Mitzi and her late husband Bill Huggins, Connie and Kent Price, Cherri and Jennifer Wright and Jody and Traci Wright; 18 grandchild­ren; 19 greatgrand­children and five great-great grandchild­ren; as well as several brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Oaknoll Chapel with the Rev. Dean Wright and The Reverend John Dorsey and Jerry McCullough officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Oostanaula Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wright’s grandsons will be serving as Pallbearer­s and Honorary Pallbearer­s.
