Adairsville officer placed on leave
Nathan Lee Henderson was arrested on aggravated assault, battery and false imprisonment charges.
CALHOUN — An Adairsville Police Department officer has been placed on leave with pay after he was arrested Tuesday in Gordon County on aggravated assault, battery and false imprisonment charges, according to Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston and Capt. Louis Dean of the Adairsville PD.
Officer Nathan Lee Henderson, 35, of 212 Jeep St., Calhoun, was immediately suspended with pay from his job with the Adairsville Police Department.
“It is standard procedure, our starting point, for any officer that gets into any type of trouble,” said Dean.
Deputies were sent to Henderson’s residence around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday in response to a report of a domestic disturbance.
Dean said the internal investigation will likely be completed by the weekend.
Henderson was charged under the Family Violence Act.
