-

Rome Little Theatre’s production of “Jungle Book” features a young cast that includes Jake Arthur as a vine, Danielle Roberts as a flower, Pairs Kitchens as a bee and Bryson Rosales as Mowgli.

Rome Little Theatre will bring the animals of the jungle to the DeSoto stage with its production of “Jungle Book” June 9-11 and June 16-18.

Thirty four young Romans are cast in the show that takes place deep in the jungle.

Directed by Tracy Hellriegel and produced by Daphne Arthur, the show offers opportunities for local kids to learn about the stage and the art of performing as well as providing entertainment for Rome families.

“I have always wanted to do theater,” said Zachary Wright, an RLT newcomer who plays the easy-going bear Baloo. “When I was given a role in ‘Jungle Book’ I knew I wanted to keep acting.”

The show will take place at the DeSoto Theatre June 9-11 and June 16-18. Friday shows will begin at 8 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday performances start at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for students and seniors and $12 for children.

Following intermission at each show, Mr. Greg’s Reptile Roadshow will entertain the audience with several large snakes and lizards.
