The Adult Unit of the Rome/ Floyd County NAACP will hold its annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Lovejoy Baptist Church Joy Life Center, 436 Branham Ave. The program theme is “Together We Are Stronger ... Breaking Every Chain.” The speaker will be the Rev. Francys Johnson, president of the Georgia NAACP. Dinner tickets cost $35 for adults and $15 for youth ages 12 and younger. Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home will host its Family Free Day at the museum Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. The event will feature members of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation.

Alton Holman Heritage Arts will present Puppetry Theatre Arts in the Park, a puppetry summer camp, Monday through June 23 for ages 8-15. There is a maximum of 40 students. Cost is $180 per student. Lyerly United Methodist Church will host its annual Car & Truck Show and Craft Festival at Dowdy Park in downtown Summerville on Aug. 12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. There will be a 50/50 drawing, cake walk, door prizes, church cookbooks for sale and playground equipment for kids. More than 50 antique vehicles will be in the car show. 15x15 outdoor spaces are available for vendors for $20. Vendors must provide tents, tables and chairs.
