Putt Putt Pub Crawl will return Saturday
An 11 a.m. tee time is set for the fourth annual Mike Dumas Putt Putt Pub Crawl on Saturday, with participation from 12 Broad Street establishments.
Started in 2014 by Noreen Hullander, the pub crawl is a tribute to her father Mike Dumas and is scheduled every year for the Saturday before Father’s Day.
The event raises money for the organization Operation One Voice, a military charity dedicated to meeting the immediate needs of families of fallen or wounded Special Operation Forces. All proceeds from the pub crawl will go directly to OOV.
“I hope everyone comes out and enjoys this event,” Hullander said, “People can come out, have a good time, and support our military.”
According to Hullander, the pub crawl brings together three things her father loved, beer, golf and supporting the military.
Registration for the pub crawl will be outside of Jefferson’s from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and cost $25 per person or $75 for a team of four. The first 100 golfers to register will receive a T-shirt, and all golfers will receive a camouflage golf ball, a score card, and a cup to sample beer at local bars and restaurants. Raffle tickets for a Yuengling golf bag are also available for $10 apiece.
Each stop will feature a putting green specially designed by the restaurants and will offer a sampling of Yuengling beer products.
Awards will be handed out at Dark Side of the Moon at 7 p.m. for best overall individual score, best team and golfer’s favorite putting green. Prizes include Yuengling soft coolers, visors and umbrellas, as well as round of golf for four to Callier Springs Country Club in Rome and Woodland Hills Golf Club in Cartersville. The winner of the raffle will also be announced.
Hullander said every year the pub crawl has seen an increase in teams participating and is hoping for over 100 golfers this year. She also said all fees and raffle tickets must be cash only. Participants must be 21 or over to purchase tickets, IDs will be checked at registration.
