Lucia Margaret Johnson
Miss Lucia Margaret Johnson, age 4, of Lindale, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at an Atlanta medical center.
Little Lucia was born in New Albany, Indiana on July 5, 2012, daughter of the former Danielle Marie Mischnick and Kirk Anthony Johnson, Jr. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sanfra Case, and by her maternal grandfather, Paul Mischnick.
Lucia is survived by her parents, Kirk and Danielle Johnson, Lindale; four sisters, Ellery, Lillian, Elsa, and Esther Johnson, all of Lindale; her paternal grandparents, Donna and Kirk Johnson, Sr., Sellersburg, Indiana; aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Rocky Calvert and the Rev. Joey Motes will officiate with family and friends sharing. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Pallbearers will include Cody Madere, Jacob Calvert, Don Waln, and her father, Kirk Johnson, Jr.

Ms. Karen Faith Sparks, age 58, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in an Atlanta area hospice facility.
Ms. Sparks was born in the Philippines on December 13, 1958, daughter of the late Doyal Wayne Sparks and the late Mary Elizabeth Otts Sparks. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael W. Sparks. Prior to her becoming disabled, she was employed for over 16 years with Floyd Medical Center as a cardiac technician and computer operator.
Survivors include a sister, Connie Sparks Dugger, and her husband, Michael, Dallas; a sister-in-law, Lyn Sparks, Pensacola, Fla.; nieces, JoAnn Moore, and her husband, Matt, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jennifer Langford, and her husband, Dennis, Pensacola, Fla., Jessica Dugger, Dallas and Chelsey Dugger, Dallas; a nephew, Jonathan Sparks, Pensacola, Fla.; two great nieces; one great nephew.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Tim Dickens will officiate.

Kristin D. Van Meter
Mrs. Kristin D. Van Meter, age 33, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, with the Rev. Chris Hearn officiating.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service.

Geneva Floyd Beck, age 92, passed away Thursday, June 15, after a brief illness. Geneva was a lifelong resident of Plainville and a lifelong member of the Plainville United Methodist Church where she faithfully attended as long as she was able. Geneva was well known for her humor, quick wit and her pride in her two sons, Larry and Kenny.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harvey Beck, and a son, Larry Beck. She is survived by a son, Kenny Beck, and his wife Joan; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Beck Olson; and a granddaughter, Dee Jay Beck.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the members of her church and others in the community, including the staff of Amedisys Home Health Care, who helped her live independently in her own home until recently. This is what she wanted most. Special thanks to Tim and Toni Fuller, Blake and Tammy Nicholson, Ray and Melanie Black, Sandra Swinford, Wayne Swinford and Ed Hightower for what they have meant to Geneva and the Beck family over the years.
Visitation services will be from 1-3 p.m. at the Plainville United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 17, with services to immediately follow. The Reverend Ted Fuller and the Reverend Bill Lowry will officiate. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery, Plainville.
Pallbearers include Tim Fuller, Ted Fuller, Brownie McEntyre, Jimmy Franklin, Wayne Swinford, Ray Black, Ed Hightower, Bryant Hopper, and John Shivers.

Lisa Ann Elrod Dover, age 51, of White, Ga., passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017.
Lisa was born March 3, 1966, in Bartow County, a daughter of the late George Elrod and Betty Elizabeth Sligh Elrod. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Timmy Elrod, and sister, Jackie Meadows.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Dover; her children, Chassity Taylor, Tosha Evans, Kesha Whitehead, Tamara Simmons, Carey Slocum, and Alesha Shields; brothers, Danny Elrod and Darrell Elrod; 17 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Global Harvest Fellowship Church, Cartersville, with the Rev. Greg Barnette officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at Global Harvest Fellowship Church, 3276 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Cartersville, Ga. 30120.
