Furman holds graduation exercises
Furman University awarded 697 undergraduate and master’s degrees and presented its top academic honors during graduation exercises Saturday, May 6.
Bailey Freeman of Rome received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Rebecca Reddoch of Calhoun received a Bachelor of Science degree.
Approximately 4,600 people attended the commencement activities in Timmons Arena.
Area residents graduate from Mercer University
Mercer University conferred bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees to nearly 2,000 students representing 12 schools and colleges at four ceremonies during May in Macon and Atlanta.

Alexandria Hurley of Georgia Baptist College of Nursing received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Cynthia Johnson of Georgia Baptist College of Nursing received a Doctor of Philosophy degree.
Jacob Kirkpatrick of School of Medicine received a Doctor of Medicine degree.
Shedrick Martin of College of Pharmacy received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Samuel Moses of College of Liberal Arts received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Palak Patel of Georgia Baptist College of Nursing received a Master of Science in Nursing degree.
William Stallins of McAfee School of Theology received a Doctor of Ministry degree.
Terea Stewart of College of Liberal Arts received a Bachelor of Science degree.
Bonnie Whelan of College of Liberal Arts received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
