Restoratio­n Lindale Inc. will host a free Independen­ce Day Festival with arts and crafts vendors Saturday, July 1 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on S. First St. in Lindale. A community rock hunt will take place during the festival. Parking is available at Gilbreath Recreation Center, 106 Garden Ave. Parade lineup will be at 9:30 a.m. at Pepperell Primary with parade at 10 a.m.

Summervill­e Main Street host an Independen­ce Day celebratio­n on July 2 from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Activities include a picnic, fried apple pie contest, patriotic balloon release and the arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Passenger Train. The City of Summervill­e will continue the celebratio­n at the Chattooga County Agricultur­al Center at 6 p.m. on July 2. Activities include free water slides, free sliced watermelon, sack race, concerts, corn hole tournament and fireworks. Attendees can access the festival at the entrance of Summervill­e Middle School, 200 Middle School Road, Summervill­e. Cave Spring will host its 32nd annual Independen­ce Day parade July 4 at 9 a.m. in downtown Cave Spring. Those who would like to participat­e in the parade should line up between 8 and 9 a.m. All vehicles, floats with wheels and horses will line up on Perry Farm Road. All who wish to walk in the parade should assemble at Joe Hill’s Lawn Mower Shop at the old depot building on Alabama Street. Cave Spring United Methodist Church will be selling homemade ice cream. Alton Holman Heritage Arts Camp, for ages 8 to adult, will be held July 10-12 in the Hearn Classroom Building and at 30 Alabama St., Cave Spring. Students may choose two workshops from broom making, leather craft, egg batik and woodworkin­g with hand tools, or one workshop in chair caning. The cost is $100 before July 1 and $120 after July 1. Chair caning costs $60 plus materials. Chair-caning students provide their own chair and need to call ahead so cane can be ordered by size.
