Floyd woman charged with exploiting an elder

A Floyd County woman was arrested Saturday morning after taking a woman’s Social Security card.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Tiffany Amber Dabbs, 21, of 111 Grove Ave., Lindale, took a Social Security Direct Express card owned by a 73-yearold woman with the intent of taking $1,000 from the victim’s account.

The card was found in Dabbs’ bra at the time of her arrest on Leland Avenue around 8 a.m. Saturday.

Dabbs was charged with felony exploitati­on of an elder and a misdemeano­r theft.

She was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Saturday night without bond.

Polk woman accused of keeping truck after test drive a year ago

A woman who allegedly took a truck for a test drive in Rome over a year ago and never returned with the vehicle, was arrested Friday and charged with felony theft by taking of a motor vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

April Ann Smith, 42, of 3367 Johnson Lake Road, Cedartown, took a 1999 Ford F-250 truck from a victim on Wallace Street in Rome back on March 6, 2016.

Smith was transferre­d from the Polk County jail to Rome Friday night, but released from jail Saturday on $3,500 bond.

North Rome resident charged with cruelty to children

A North Rome woman was jailed Saturday morning after a warrant was issued for her arrest stemming from an

incident in June at 3 Government Plaza in Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Ekeya Sonsarae Madden, 32, of 2123 Southern St., is accused of repeatedly striking the child June 9 with her hands.

The warrant states the victim suffered “excessive physical pain.”

Madden was charged with felony cruelty to children after turning herself in to officers at the jail Saturday.

She was released from jail Saturday on $4,800 bond.

Report: Inmate charged after biting jail officer on wrist

An inmate at the Floyd County jail, Larry Eugene Cordle II, had a new felony added to the allegation­s against him Friday night after biting a jail officer.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Cordle, 27, of 3 Knollwood Drive, committed felony obstructio­n of an officer by biting the left wrist of a deputy who was working the H-block of the jail around 8 p.m. Friday night.

Cordle was originally jailed June 21 on a simple battery charge and probation warrant.

He is being held in the Floyd County Jail without bond.
