The Rotary Club of

Rome will host Logan Boss of the Floyd County Health Department for a program about the Zika virus on Thursday at noon at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave.

FRIDAY

The Georgia Mountain Music Club will perform a Patriotic Music program and ice cream social Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Charles C. Parker Center, 1325 Kingston Road. Methodist Church will host Beth Bond from Southeast Green for a seminar on climate change in relation to climate justice on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. On Aug. 5, Eddie Elsberry from Berry College will discuss the Berry bald eagles. Storytelle­r’s Guild will have its monthly, “A Time to Tell” storytelli­ng hour on Monday, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway. Visitors are welcome to come and tell a story or just listen to some stories by some of Rome’s best storytelle­rs.

On July 17, they will have their “Young Tales” from 10 to 11 a.m. at he library. The event will feature the best young tellers in this area.

The Rome Kids Code

Camp will be held Monday through July 14 from 9 a.m.3 p.m. daily at the Georgia Highlands College library, 3175 Cedartown Highway. Children ages 10-14 will learn coding basics, computer science and other STEM concepts, will create their own code project and will get an introducti­on to building websites and games. Alton Holman Heritage

Arts Camp, for ages 8 to adult, will be held Monday through July 12 in the Hearn Classroom Building and at 30 Alabama St., Cave Spring. Students may choose two workshops from broom making, leather craft, egg batik and woodworkin­g with hand tools, or one workshop in chair caning. The cost to register now is $120. The Sulzbacher Roman Holiday, the city of Rome’s public excursion boat, is offering public tours at 2 p.m. the first Sunday of each month through September. Each tour is limited to 40 passengers. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for children 12 and younger.
