Clarence Edward Martin,

76, of Shannon, died June 29, 2017. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the arrangements. Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga, 30165 with the Rev. Benny Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday July 12, 2017. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

David Edwards, age 59, of Rome, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, in Erlanger Medical Center, in Chattanooga.

David was born July 2, 1958, in Floyd County. He was the son Louise Tucker Edwards, and the late Floyd Edwards. David dug graves by hand for many funeral homes in North West Georgia for 51 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Edwards; brother, Steve Edwards; sister, Brenda Edwards.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Danette Sharp Edwards, daughters, Tisha McDonald, Rome; Caprice Willetts, Rome; Shandie Minter, Rome; Ferren Dawson, Rome; mother, Louise Tucker Edwards, Rome; brothers, Jimmy Ray Edwards, Rome; Roger Edwards, Cave Springs; Michael Edwards, Cedartown; seven granddaughters, three grandsons, two great granddaughters, mother of his children, Paula Rampley, several nieces and nephews, also survive.

Family visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

David was laid to rest at Beech Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, by his request at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday the day of his passing.
