Entrepreneur Wayne Robinson has acquired the Curlee’s Fish House & Oyster Bar building at 227 Broad St. Robinson bought the building, while D.J. Rickman has purchased the business, and will transition the restaurant to a sports bar and grill over the course of the next month.

Robinson said he paid $355,000 for the building, which is in the same block as the Vogue building which Robinson bought earlier this year and is in the process of renovating.

Rickman said the restaurant will continue to be operated as Curlee’s Fish House for another couple of weeks while he cements plans for what will be known as Giggity’s Sports Bar and Grill. Giggity has become Rickman’s nickname playing interactive games in other sports bars.

Golden Tee is one of the electronic games he is going to feature, along with cornhole and a pool table

Rickman said he expects to close for about two weeks to make any physical changes that are necessary to the building.

Tuesday was Rickman’s first official day as owner of the restaurant, and he is shooting to have the transition completed by the start of the college football season around Sept. 1.

Former owner Charles Curlee said it was the right time to divest himself of one of his enterprises.

“This is a good opportunity for me to reduce my workload and responsibilities, as well as the right time for another organization that wanted to be on Broad Street, so it was a mutually beneficial deal,” Curlee said.

Kofi Annan resigned as peace envoy to Syria, blaming the Syrian government’s intransigence, the growing militancy of Syrian rebels and a divided U.N. Security Council that he said failed to forcefully back his effort.
