MONK GOLF TOURNAMENT — The 2017 Monk Atkinson Memorial Golf Tournament will be Saturday and Sunday at BEAA Golf Club, 127 Eden Valley Road, Lindale. The Rome Tour Event costs $75 per person, which includes cart fees for both days and a practice round after payment. Both days start at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Seniors are $65 per person and will have their own flights and special tees but will not qualify for Rome Tour points. For more informatio­n or to register, come by the club or call 706-234-8010.

TILLMAN CLOCKTOWER 5K — The Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K Road Race and 2-mile Health Walk will be Aug. 19 at 8 a.m. in Heritage Park. Registrati­on is $30 for the 5K and $25 for the health walk through Aug. 9, when online registrati­on closes. Race day registrati­on will be open from 6:30-7:30 a.m. and is $35 for the 5K and $30 for the health walk. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by Aug. 9. COOSA MITES FOOTBALL SIGNUPS — Signups for the Coosa Mites of the 2017 Unified Football League season will run through Aug. 11. The age control date is Sept. 1. Noncontact conditioni­ng camp begins Tuesday from 5:307 p.m. at the Gilbreath Center in Lindale. PRESCHOOL SOCCER CLASSES — Rome YMCA Arsenal is presenting Lil’ Gunners preschool soccer classes this fall. Each session introduces soccer through games and activities. The first session of four classes begins Sept. 7 with a second session starting Oct. 12. The cost is $25 for YMCA members and $40 for non-members, and includes a team shirt and medal. ARSENAL FALL SOCCER — Early registrati­on for the Rome YMCA Arsenal fall recreation­al soccer league is going on through Aug. 22. The focus is participat­ion and fun with developmen­t of fundamenta­l skills through activities and games. Players are separated into boys and girls divisions with different age groups from 6-and under to 15-and-under. Early registrati­on is $69 for YMCA members and $109 for non-members. Fees increase $10 after Aug. 22 and includes a jersey, end-of-season award and party, as well as Georgia Soccer Associatio­n registrati­on. For more informatio­n contact the YMCA at 706-232-2468.

RUN WRIGHT THIS WAY — A fundraiser for Rome resident Ginger Wright, who is battling breast cancer, will be held Sept. 2 at Wright Athletic Developmen­t, 215 N. Fourth Ave. A 10K, 5K and 1-mile health walk will be held beginning at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $35 for the 10K, $30 for the 5K and $25 for the health walk with all proceeds going to Wright and her family.
