2 arrested on drug charges after traffic stop on Old Rockmart Road
Floyd County police arrested a Lindale man and woman on felony drug charges after a traffic stop at Old Rockmart Road and Spur 101.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
April Joy Bussey, 38, of 811B Park Ave., and Nicholas Kyle Townsend, 27, of 756 Park Ave., were arrested Saturday night just before 11 p.m.
Police found two glass smoking pipes in the vehicle along with a rock of suspected methamphetamine. One of the pipes was found in the backseat of the vehicle within reach of two small children.
Bussey was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of dangerous drugs and multiple misdemeanors including three counts of reckless conduct, acquiring a license plate for the purpose of concealing the identification of a vehicle, two seat belt violations regarding restraint of children, possession of drug related objects and driving without insurance.
Townsend was charged with felony possession of meth, a felony probation violation and a misdemeanor for possession of drug-related objects.
Bussey and Townsend were being held in the Floyd County Jail on Sunday night without bond,
Police charge 2 men with meth possession
A traffic stop south of Rome has resulted in the arrest of two Floyd County residents for the possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Brandon Russell Lindsey, 30, of 4 High Point Court, Silver Creek, and Steven Eric Parker, 39, of 32 Raintree Drive, Silver Creek, were stopped Saturday night on Old Rockmart Road just before 10 p.m.
Police found a glass pipe and undisclosed quantity of methamphetamine in the vehicle along with two open containers of alcohol.
Both Lindsay and Parker with charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanors for possession of drug related objects and open containers of alcohol.
Parker and Lindsay were being held in the Floyd County Jail Sunday night without bond.
Report: Man damaged vehicles on N. Fifth
A Rome was faces a felony charge of criminal attempt to enter an automobile after an incident in downtown Rome.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Aaron Re Mar Thompson, 24, of 1339 Cedar Ave., was located near a crime scene in the 500 block of North Fifth Avenue Saturday morning and admitted to damaging the widows of two vehicles with the intent of taking money from inside the vehicles.
Thompson said he was afraid of being caught after damaging the vehicles and tried to flee the scene.
Thompson has been charged with felony entering an automobile with the intent to commit a theft and probation violation along with misdemeanors for theft by deception and theft by conversion and two counts of criminal trespassing.
He was being held in the Floyd County Jail Sunday night without bond.
Berry: Man caught breaking into vehicle
A West Rome man was arrested on the Berry College campus Sunday night after attempting to enter a vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Anderson E. Abadio-Lopez, 28, of 173 Addington Drive, was apprehended by Berry campus police after he was observed acting suspiciously near a vehicle on campus.
When confronted by campus police, Abadio Lopez pulled away and resisted arrest but was finally subdued and carried to jail.
The man was charged with felony entering an auto with the intent to commit a theft and misdemeanors for public drunk and obstruction of an officer.
He was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Sunday night without bond.
Rome man charged with drug possession
A Rome man has been jailed after being stopped by Rome police around 10 p.m. Saturday night.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Remy Mervyn Johnson, 26, of 24 Woodcreek Way was arrested by Rome police Saturday night at the intersection of US 411 and Turner McCall Boulevard
Johnson was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, suspected Oxy Contin and a series of misdemeanors for having undisclosed pills not in an original container, two counts of seat belt violation regarding restraints for children, failing to maintain his lane, driving under the influence of drugs, reckless driving, and three counts of endangering a child by DUI. Three young children were in the car.
Johnson was being held in the Floyd County Jail Sunday night without bond.
