McDaniel named Georgia Blood Assurance director
Blood Assurance recently appointed Brian McDaniel as executive director of operations for the company’s Georgia operations. McDaniel assumed management of Blood Assurance’s Georgia operations on June 5, 2017.
“Brian is a long-time partner of Blood Assurance with a broad skill base across the health care spectrum,” said Jay Baumgardner, executive director of marketing and community relations at Blood Assurance. “He has experience in strategic business planning and has strong community relations skills that we know will boost the reach of our Georgia locations.”
His areas of expertise include operational management, staff and customer relations, performance management, strategic planning, staff development, regulatory compliance and human resources.
“I have always been a fierce advocate of Blood Assurance, and I hold the organization in the highest regard,” said McDaniel. “I have had the opportunity to work closely with area representatives to further Blood Assurance in the community. I look forward to continue working with our Georgia team to expand the mission of the organization in order to help our community through a stable and safe blood supply.”
McDaniel previously served as the president of the Cohutta Springs Foundation in Crandle, Ga.; administrative director of operations for Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, Ga.; president and CEO for DB Express in Calhoun, Ga. and Ennis, Texas; assistant vice president for Emory-Adventist Hospital in Smyrna, Ga. and laboratory director for Murray Medical Center.
McDaniel is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a Combat Medic and a Medical Laboratory Specialist. While in the Army, McDaniel earned the Expert Field Medical Badge and the Army Parachutist Badge. He is a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
He is a certified Medical Technologist and is double certified in human resources as a Senior Professional from the Society for Human Resource Management and a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute. McDaniel earned a Master of Science in business administration and a Bachelor of Science in business administration both from LaSalle University in Mandeville, La.
He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Rotary International and the Blood Assurance Advisory Board for Whitfield/Murray County.
He and his wife, Deborah, live in Dalton, Ga. along with their daughter.
