Woman charged with possession of meth

As part of the plan to modernize Armuchee High School through an ELOST extension, the football field house would be torn down to make room for an eight-lane track. Due to the enlargenin­g of the track, the visitor’s-side bleachers and the football field itself would be slightly relocated to the east. The school currently has three fieldhouse­s, and the idea is to build a new fieldhouse in a central location for multiple athletic teams.

A Rome woman is facing two felony charges after she reportedly took money from clients living in a group home she managed, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Nadia Nichell Watley, 33, of 106 Nixon Ave., is charged with felony exploitati­on and intimidati­on of disabled adults and theft by taking.

Watley reportedly took $607.50 without authorizat­ion from the people in her care. She was acting as a fiduciary and a house manager for a group home operated by Southern Resource Consultant­s at 712 Burnett Ferry Road.

She was released from jail on $5,700 bond Wednesday. of a Callier Springs Road, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Mahkiyah Nashai Pritchard, 19, of 3 Fernwood Drive, is charged with felony burglary. Quindarius Dremond Tate, 20, of 4 E. 10th St., is charged with misdemeano­r party to a crime burglary.

Pritchard was released from jail on $7,900 bond while Tate was being held Wednesday night pending a $7,900 bond.

A Rome woman was arrested Wednesday and faces felony drug charges after police responded to a trespassin­g call.

According to Rome Police and Floyd County Jail reports:

Debbie Bell, 48, of 1201 Martha Berry Blvd., was taken into custody at a mini-warehouse operation on Martha Berry Boulevard just after noon.

Someone had seen the woman enter two storage units and, as police pulled into the business, they saw the woman pushing a bicycle off the property.

Bell said she was there to pick up papers for her boyfriend, but after admitting she does not rent any of the units, police took her into custody and found a needle containing suspected methamphet­amine and a glass pipe inside a backpack and make up bag she was carrying.

Bell was charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine, two misdemeano­r counts of possession of drug related objects and a misdemeano­r for criminal trespassin­g.

Bell was being held in the Floyd County Jail Wednesday night without bond.
