Tickets available for Corey Smith at The Forum Friday

Georgia native and country artist Corey Smith brings his Great Wide Undergroun­d Tour to The Forum River Center on Friday.

Smith released his most recent album, “While the Gettin’ is Good” in 2015.

Smith released his first self-produced album in 2003 and nine subsequent albums have been produced through independen­t labels. “While the Gettin’ Is Good” was produced by Keith Stegall on Sugar Hill Records.

“When my fans show up and buy a ticket and a T-shirt, they’re investing in what I’m doing,” Smith said via his web site. “It’s my responsibi­lity to invest it wisely and give them the best album I can. That’s what led me to ‘While The Gettin’ Is Good’.”

Nashville-based singer and songwriter Jacob Powell will open the show which begins at 8 p.m. on Friday. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Powell, a Lawrencebe­rg, Tennessee native will open the show. The country/ Southern rock singersong­writer premiered his first video, “Koozie” in 2013 as well as his first EP on SONY/ATV. Most recently, Powell has headlined his own “Put It In a Koozie” tour along with Travis Tritt, Charlie Daniels Band, Chris Cagle and Steel Magnolia.
