Uldrick announces Rome BOE candidacy
John Uldrick, a local minister and parent of two Rome High School students, announced his intention to run for the Rome City Board of Education on Thursday.
“I have lived, worked, and served in Rome for 10 years, and I am proud to be a part of this thriving com- munity. Having worked as a youth minister for over twenty years, my heart has always been attuned to the needs of young people. I feel that my experience working with youth will enable me to maintain a unique perspective of how our school board can best support the students, parents, teachers and administrators of Rome City Schools.”
“I believe the ways I can work to accomplish this goal are by maintaining stability within the system, working collaboratively with other board members and the superintendent and creating a practical and progressive plan for the future. We must advocate for all students connected to the Rome City School system while continuing to be engaged and reliable community partners. These efforts will bring us closer to our goal of elevating the educational, emotional and social growth of EVERY student in our community.”
Uldrick also serves on the board of the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia, the Community Kitchen and Good Neighbor Ministries. He served as the chaplain for the Rome High School Football team for three seasons, will serve as a mentor in Rome Middle School’s Habitudes program and is a graduate of the 28th class of Leadership Rome.
